President Bush said today that a new intelligence finding that Iran halted its nuclear weapons work in 2003 had not altered his sense that Iran remained a danger. At a White House press conference, Bush called the report “a warning signal,” not grounds for reassurance, and said the United States would not renounce the option of a military response. Bennington Faculty Make NYT 'Notable Books' List

Works by two Bennington College faculty members were included in The New York Times Book Review's recent list of 100 Most Notable Books of the Year. They were literature faculty member Steven Bach’s biography Leni: The Life and Work of Leni Riefenstahl and MFA faculty member Tom Bissell’s memoir, The Father of All Things: A Marine, His Son, and the Legacy of Vietnam.

The Cost of Midnight Oil

"Pulling an all-nighter" is an end-of-the-semester tradition for most college students facing final exams. But will it actually help your test scores? St. Lawrence University psychology professor Pamela Thatcher studied the sleeping patterns and grades of 111 students, and found that those who regularly pulled at least one all-nighter a semester had lower GPAs.
